Queen Umi Pevensie (1928-?) was the second-born of Aslan`s children (after Becca), and was the eldest sister. She was known to the Narnians as Queen Umi the Benevolent, and was known to help anybody in need (to the point of being taken advantage of sometimes), motherly, level-headed, and protective.

During her reign at the Narnian Capital of Cair Paravel, she was also known as Queen Umi of the Holy Grail. It was later revealed to the Pevensie children by Aslan that Umi was not their biological sister but was instead his daughter who had been kidnapped by Jadis who had decided to throw Umi into their world where she was found by the Pevensie children`s parents growing up with them.

Biography[]

Umi was well-known for her courage in battle, great beauty, and incredible archery skills. She was kind-hearted, compassionate, and very intelligent like Susan her adoptive sister. During the Golden Age, many princes sought her hand in marriage but were rejected as Umi had decided to marry Edmund. Her courage in battle against the White Witch was recounted in a classic storybook that spoke of her in a reverant tone and would later be read to Prince Caspian.

After the Pevensie`s second visit to Narnia, she was told to remain in Narnia with her father and did so working to restore the peace which had once blanketed the land before the invaders had disturbed the peace and tranquility of Narnia. After she learned that Susan and Peter could no longer return to Narnia, Umi became depressed refusing to even speak to her father and divided in terms of her emotions. While she loved Susan and Peter as her true siblings she knew that eventually she would have to let go of them because she was a God and they would die eventually.

Childhood[]

Umi was born in 1928 to her parents; Aslan King of Narnia, and her mother Queen of a unnamed Kingdom. When she was two years old, Jadis the enemy to her parents whisked her away and deposited her in the real world leaving her in the cold London winter to be found by the parents of the Pevensie children. Though young due to having believed that she was abandoned from a young age, Umi was a cold-demeaned person resorting to hiding her fears, true thoughts, and true expressions behind a facade of a benevolent child. Susan even commented that even at a young age telling what Umi was truly thinking was tough because she never stated her true thoughts out loud. In 1940, when Umi and Susan were twelve, World War II began, and the adult Pevensies, who lived in London, sent all five of their children away to to escape the German Blitz bombings over the city. Umi and her siblings were sent to stay in the country with Professor Digory Kirke.
